After the terrorist attacks on 9-11-2001, that brought down the twin towers of the World Trade Center, this new tower is being erected to replace the iconic twin towers in the New York City skyline. Standing 1776 feet high, it's the tallest building in the United States and is 104 stories high (that's about 3 million square feet of floor space). It also boasts state-of-the-art technology for energy efficiency, as well as advanced safety features to help prevent the tragedy of it's predecessors. The beautiful glass building reflects the sky and other buildings around it. It stands as a great reminder of freedom and resilience.
Below it is the 9-11 memorial engraved with the names of the nearly 3000 people who died that day, as well as the 9-11 Museum (which opens May 21). They are also building a new subway station, which looks like a fabulous piece of artwork.
@amandal Thanks for the FAV! No, it's not in SC, just everything was glass and reflected the sky! LOL!
