Yesterday, my husband and boys decided that they would remove some lattice work placed around the yard in strange places by the previous homeowner. Little did they know that the man buried the post some 28 inches down into the clay and secured it with concrete. Took them hours and left big hole in the yard, but the post is out. Man and two teenage boys - 1, stubborn post - 0.
Do you live somewhere with snow in winter? Up here, the ground heaves with the spring thaw, and anything that you want to stay put (such as a fence post or trellis) needs to be dug in 3 feet! Good work to your men, though.
@digitalrn We think that exact thing about most of the "projects" he did around this house. @amandal Well, when they got the post out, the hole was big enough to bury a body! LOL! @markp I tried to convince him to just cut the post off below the ground, but he took it as a personal challenge to get it out! LOL! @lbingle365 No, we're in NC, hardly any cold weather here, and the clay is nearly concrete any way. @olivetreeann Thanks...and it only took them 3 hours! LOL! @lynbonn@danette Thanks! @randystreat Hahaha! They work for food!
