I wonder if the people who live in that house realize that there is a cannon pointed right at them? This Bentonville Battlefield is one of the more unique battlefields we have visited, as it is intertwined with houses and farms. We saw many historical markers noting a battle site along with another telling people not to enter the field because it's private property. This battle was the Confederate's last significant attempt to fight the Union troops (March 19-21, 1865). Robert E. Lee surrendered at Appomattox Court House, VA, on April 9, 1865.
