Our Women's Ministry at church plays bunco the first Saturday of the month. It's a great even to bring in ladies from the community who don't go to our church. We pay $5, which is used for some project around the church. Tonight's money goes to the next phase of the little garden we did last year. We have snacks and a Bible devotion. Whoever gets the most Buncos, the most mini-buncos, the most wins and the most loses wins a little prize at the end. It's a fun night of fellowship.
We do it differently than some groups do. We have tables of 4 people. Usually 5-6 tables. The first round you try to roll 1s, the second 2s,..... A bunco is when you roll three of whatever number you are on. A mini-bunco is when you roll three of the same number not of the round. So if you are on your first round and roll three 1s, it's a Bunco and you win that round. The round is over. If you roll three 6s, it's a mini-bunco and it's worth 5 points, but the round doesn't end. If no one gets a Bunco, the round ends when someone gets 21 points. At the end of the round, the two with the top scores, move on to the next table and the two who lost stays. Except at the head table, the winners stay and the losers move on. Because you are constantly changing tables (up to 24 times a night), you get to spend a little time with everyone there. It's a lot of fun.
