My son ran Boy Scout Troop 941's Forrest Gump 5K Color Run this morning. He was a mess. As the troop's senior patrol leader, all the scouts throwing color made sure he got an extra good dose of color each time he ran by them. But, he had a great time. Pretty much everything washed clean, even his shoes. The shirt is slightly peach colored now, but a little bleach will fix that. He finished the race in about 28 minutes, which is a good time for him. As he was about to finish his 2nd of 3 laps around the park, the boy who finished first came flying past him in a sprint to finish in about 18 minutes (but he finished with no color on him and without slowing down for water). The boy's brother finished 2nd a few minutes later. It was a fun morning for families, though. It wasn't really a competitive race, but it's $9.41 entrance fee is by far the cheapest you'll find for a color run. Often they are $40 a person.
