B&W Battle Flag! by homeschoolmom

B&W Battle Flag!

No, this flag isn't backward. It's one of the infrared flags worn on our soldiers' shoulder on the battlefield so that they can be seen easily by aircraft and allies. It's "backward" from how we normally see it is worn. Because our flag is always to your right, it's worn on the right shoulder. And, military protocol says that the field of blue must always face to the front. F is for Flag, also for Flash of Red February. This one was worn by my husband in 2011. He returned home 2 days before Christmas and gave this flag and hat to my older son (he also got one for himself, his dad and our younger son, but they have new flags on them).
I like in it B&W!

@kwind I don't normally like flags in B&W, but this one was originally black and white due to being infrared.

Gorgeous. I was told, too, that to have it otherwise would look like retreat and we KNOW Americans don't retreat! Thankful to your husband for serving.

Interesting piece of military uniform regulations that I certainly did not know. Will have to pay more attention to this when I see a troop.

@danette Yes, that is what they say. Always going forward! Thanks!
@swilde Thanks!
@randystreat When they first started putting the flag on the new uniform, everyone always thought it as backward. We have seen many uniform changes! LOL!
