When we first found Hobbs in our yard in August 1996, he was a newborn kitten. Later abandoned by his mother, we took over raising him before his eyes were completely open. We kept him in a pet carrier during the day and came home to feed him a few times, since we worked nearby. We put this pound puppy in the carrier to keep him company. It's his favorite toy. He carries it around the house, but doesn't like to be caught carrying it. Every night after we go to bed, he goes back downstairs to get it. You can hear him meowing all over the house for about 10 minutes as he picks it up and does their tour around the downstairs before coming up to bed. Poor pound puppy is a little worse for wear since it is really old (I got it when I was in high school), so I'm afraid to wash it any more. But, they've been together almost 19 years, two best buds, a cat and his pound puppy!
