We grew up watching re-runs of the Andy Griffith Show on TV. As we drove back home from our quick trip into WV, we stopped in Mt. Airy, NC, which is where the real "Mayberry." The little town is very touristy, but fun to visit. As we left, we drove past Pilot Mountain, which is a famous mountain in northern North Carolina, and my husband remembered that Andy and Barney, and the rest of the cast, was always going to Mt. Pilot or Raleigh. Mt. Pilot is Pilot Mountain. I wish I had gotten better picture of Pilot Mountain. We passed right by it on the interstate. But, my new camera battery charger didn't properly charge my camera battery and I was left with only my cell phone to take pictures.
Great shot, and i grew up watching the originals, but still love the reruns. I was just saying the other day that this could be my all time favorite TV show.
