Friday we went to the NC Zoo in Ashboro for the first time. It was a very nice zoo, but it made us kind of homesick for our favorite zoo, the St. Louis Zoo and our favorite exhibit there, the penguins. So for today's Midweek Memory, I pulled out some old CDs of pictures and found some pictures of the penguins at the St. Louis Zoo from 2012, when we went back for a friend's wedding. The two zoos are actually connected, as the puffins from the Penguin and Puffin exhibits came from the NC Zoo.
Such a cute and sweet memory. I think penguins are adorable and it was one of the highlights of my visit to South Africa to actually see some in their natural habitat. http://365project.org/khirsch/365/2015-04-04
I've always enjoyed the penguins too. It's been while, but I think I really liked the exhibit at the Bronx Zoo when I was growing up but it's been so long since I was there I'm not sure if it was there or the New York Aquarium. Nice memory shot.
