My Get Pushed Challenge this week is to "photograph that is beautiful but inspires disgust/mistrust at the same time." This has been one of my harder challenges. So I asked myself what do many people mistrust. Guns! So, I pulled my pink carry piece out of my purse and tried to take a beautiful picture of it. Lots of editing later and this is one of my attempts. Obviously, I don't mistrust guns, but I know that people who didn't grow up with them or have any experience with them as adults do. I would hope that this photo doesn't instill disgust in anyone.
I think you are absolutely right about people's feelings about guns. And I also think you've done a good job putting that into a picture. At first I thought this was the inner-workings of a clock! The processing has really transformed the subject!
@30pics4jackiesdiamond@francoise Thanks! @olivetreeann I came to 365 after getting kicked off another photo-a-day page on Facebook because I posted a photo of my older son at the shooting range for one of the daily prompts. A few ladies from Australia threw such a fit, the site owner said I caused a disruption and kicked me off the site. I wasn't the one who caused the ruckus, they were, but oh, well. 365 is better any way.
@homeschoolmom Sadly people never seem to allow the pendulum to hang nicely in the middle. The extremes always ruin a balanced understanding. Sorry about the former site, but glad you're here!
