Cleaning up: bagging the leaves

If you have a lot of grass in your yard and you have a lot of trees that dump their leaves all at once, then you must remove the leaves before winter...otherwise they will cause the grass to go brown and/or die. This means it's time for the ultimate fall chore: raking!

When I was young, we would rake up the leaves into a BIG pile then jump into it for a while, after which my dad would come out and burn the leaves. But the smoke isn't good for the air, so that's no longer allowed in the city. Then for years and years we would rake them into the street in a big pile and the city would send out big trucks to scoop them all up and haul them away. But a few years ago, they decided that was too expensive. So now we can either a) put them into our own compost pile, b) cut them up really fine with a mower and leave them on the lawn, or c) put them in special bags which the city will pick up with the recycling and take out to their huge compost pile in the country. We have a LOT of trees, so we end up sending most of them out to the city compost pile.
This is a very interesting composition, showing that there are many bags, all filled with leaves; it's an image fitting of your narrative!
