Saturday, 10 June, we visited The House on the Rock
Near Spring Green, Wisconsin.
In 1945 Alex Jordan started building a fantastical house on Deer Shelter Rock. Definitely an eccentric person but one who pursued his passions. He was a voracious reader, but hated traveling. He would create in his own manner things and places he read about.
I first visited the House in 1965 with my parents, so amazed I’d never seen anything like it! Visited again in the early 1980’s.
