I've been wanting to do layers but didn't have a clue! I had a show of a plant against a boring backdrop and today at college I found the perfect image to blend it with - the back of the silkscreen wash unit - beautiful colours. I have spent the last 3 hours playing around with PS elements and gave up. I used an app on my iphone and it took 2-3 mins - so simple. It's thanks to Riartisan and mizhayz who have both done fab double exposure type shots that inspired me
@corgimom@wendyhgill@sheilag Thank you for your comments @masosy Thank you Kate, it's the only part I can't "get" in ps ! @jameshislop Thank you James, I'm going to have to ask someone to show me and I bet it's really simple !
Easy when you know how, isn't it? Layers are fun and soooooooooo useful. Any probs then ask because there are enough of us with some experience to help.
@steampowered thanks Paul, I can get a background but no idea how to add a layer or merge them. It's an old version of elements so any tutorials look alien
You can download the genuie Photoshop (2nd version CS2) from the adobe site. http://www.adobe.com/downloads/cs2_downloads/index.html
When you have more than one layer look out for blend mode. By using opacity and layer masks to adjust.
Beautiful Ingrid! Works really well. Glad to have inspired you a bit. Layer is pretty simple when get hang of it. Sure you will do a lot more now. I don't have elements or could help more. On photoshop you just add a layer and then adjust it.
@steampowered I've booked his plane ticket! I suspect you know more but he has a pretty good basic understanding @alceyone Thank you Anne! @gwhit123 Exactly! the speckly bit is the background then you add a layer and choose how transparent you want it - only learning but quite an effective tool
Thanks for your comments, I've never done this before but I think it could be fun!
