cyanotype by ingrid2101

cyanotype

Got all the chems mixed, coated an off-white cartridge paper and dug out an old negative.
The negative was taken at Leith docks in Edinburgh 27 (!!) years ago. The camera was a Sinar 5x4 field camera - a beauty that could do magic.
This was exposed in a UV unit for 30 mins - could have done with a little longer but it was ok.
I then toned it in cold tea - sometimes cyanotypes are just a bit too much prussian blue.
Expect to see more cyanotypes very soon - I had loads of fun doing it. It's a cheap and easy first step into alternative photography and although I shall be using digital negatives in the future I didn't feel could for film february
This is great!

February 7th, 2013
@chewyteeth Thank you very much Dave, I'm very slow at typing and probably miss bits out, it's just a contact printed cyanotype from a large format negative - then soaked in cold tea. Did a short course in typing at school and very quickly realised I'd never work in an office :)
