Neg 8 peeling wallpaper

Loved this old peeling wallpaper, turned it on it's side as I think it looks better like that. I have a severe paper fetish that I've had since I was about 4 according to my mum. I collect old wallpaper sample books - I think this is why my husband has been so encouraging of this project as I have no time to go on ebay .

love this. it looks like a dried up lake bed.

Really great pov Ingrid! The dof really makes things stand out and love how this turned out for you! The warm tones really add to the peeling. Thank you for all your supportive comments! I am becoming pinched for time more and unless asked questions, I won't be thanking directly , but will try to visit everyone's images more. Life is getting out of control at the moment...

It really makes you think 'what's that?' when you first look at it. Love this!

This is a fantastic angle... well done, Ingrid. Do you scrapbook with that fetish for paper?

Love your POV. Brilliant lighting, as well. Such a beautiful golden glow.

Very cool! like an alien landscape. Maybe you should sell prints on ebay...

Awesome shot

Such nice golden colors and fabulous curling edges. Love that you have a paper fetish! I used to ponder those old wallpaper books when I was little and out with my mom. :)

Deleted my previous comments as i had put an i instead of o in shots. Damn phone keyboard. Beautiful shOt!

At first glance I thought it was a pond! This is so surreal. Gorgeous!

Another great textures and light shot .... I love how you make the mundane and ordinary into works of art

@gwhit123 Drat! I saw it while I was cooking tea and burst out laughing, I do that too - I kind of thought you must be on the phone. Thank you anyway George! :)

@jessfresh78 Thank you Jess, lovely to get a different viewpoint :)
@heidit Thanks Heidi, I get where you're coming from - today I have time to reply some days I don't. I have one photo where I don't think I replied to anyone as life was just manic and I was lucky to get a picture up. I had to decide between thanking people or commenting on their photos and decided the latter was better. :)
@kaiakate Thank you Kate :)
@gailmmeek Thank you Gail. I don't scrapbook but I do a bit of bookbinding and use it for covers. I have one from 1930 that is so beautiful I can't use it!!
@pflaume Thank you Lisa - the sun was shining in that day!
@vase Thanks Carla, we used to cover our schoolbooks with it. My mother-in-law had one from the early 70's that she was going dump!! She couldn't understand why I was close to crying - much bemusement that night!
@annick Thank you - I love how different people see different things!
@alceyone Thank you Anne- what a lovely thing to hear :)

I really love this photo !

@ingrid2101 Bookbinding, wow! Have you taken photo's to post of your bookbinding? A friend of mine does that, and gave me a book she'd done for my birthday. I can't bring myself to use it either, so I think I know what you mean. :)
February 24th, 2013
@gailmmeek It's slipped by the wayside since 1st Jan - can't think why? I used to spend a fortune on notebooks so decided it would be cheaper to do a course and make my own! Might do a photo sometime!
February 24th, 2013
Wonderful textures and focus! I too, thought it was a pond at first :)
February 24th, 2013
@ingrid2101 Hmmm, I don't know what you could possibly mean about slipping by the wayside.lol. Yes, do take a photo sometime - tag me when you do, so I'm sure not to miss it please. :)

@gailmmeek I will Gail - I have 2 other albums but I never use them much!

Luminous and lovely.
I've got a paper thing as well. I understand...:-)

Really like this perspective. I may have to start looking at walls differently.
February 25th, 2013
Nice perspective. I love the peeling wallpaper.
February 25th, 2013
Fantastic shot.

I love the textures here Ingrid. It makes me think of peeling skin if I have been out in the sun for too long and the first layer of tan starts to come away.

@rennes @konradkoszucki @szyduck @3whiteroses @darylo @steampowered Thanks for all the commenting :)
@roadshow Glad you understand Gloria... not everyone gets it!

I like that it becomes a landscape. Makes it another world.
February 25th, 2013
very cool shot Ingrid.. the bits of blue you captured really make this shot..love the peeling edges, textures.. old wallpaper is so pretty indeed!!
February 25th, 2013
I thought this was some leaves on the ground or something until I read what you wrote! How awesome. I love the gold tone it leads you to. LOL... I think my hubby cringes at times that I want to spend more money on photographic gear since 365.

Fab. I have a friend who did up her house, which had original Zoffany and other amazing wallpaper houses like Sanderson, from the1970s, all over the walls. I was dying to make her a tea tray with memories of all the old stuff before it got sanitized but she was too quick for me!
February 25th, 2013
Fantastic texture! The vintage samples sound an interesting collection - I wouldn't be surprised if my mum has a similar stash of rolls as she won't throw anything out!
February 25th, 2013
Lovely picture and an iteresting story, took me ages to work it out. fav.
February 25th, 2013

February 26th, 2013
Great textures
February 26th, 2013
nice angle, is it a derelict house?
February 27th, 2013
@chewyteeth It is, it's all open but is part done up - there's no door so folk just wander in
February 27th, 2013
I like your thinking, good call on the rotation.
February 28th, 2013
.. the alienness of this image is awesome and the flipping is cool, can't say I share the fetish with you but there again we never had wall paper when I grew up, in fact the notion of wall paper never existed in my head until I became about 17 or so, odd...
March 1st, 2013
Love it! You know, I was thinking of you in India, when I saw all the old and shabby doors and walls and peeling paint... :)
