coffee can, using really old Ilford paper - so old that the exposure time was 5 minutes rather than 15 seconds. It was a box I'd bought unopened on ebay and tried out today - love the mottled texture it gives as well. I moved the can halfway through exposing but preferred the effect. it's the Italian Chapel which was built during WW2 by Italian POWs based in Orkney. It's 2 nissan huts joined together and decorated as a place for them to worship. It was painted inside to a level that is quite stunning. An incredibly special place and some wonderful links have been made between Orkney and Moena (in Italy) because of the war. silver linings
I missed pinhole day - didn't know! I really liek this photo, quite dreamlike with the blur and the fantastic grain it has. the blur gives it a 3d feel.
What wonderful effect, this is like you say a special place, I have been there several times and in actual fact I arrived in Orkney today and cycled past here, I hope to go back next week and get some shots, but none will be as atmospheric as this.
