chapel bleached back

Slightly complicated image to describe, I took the original photo with a 5"x4" pinhole camera onto fuji fp100c peel apart film. The part that a lot of people throw away is actually my favourite - you can tape it to glass and using bleach wash away the black coating. This leaves a negative that usually has some traces of bleach and water . After this has dried it can be contact printed and developed. I used very old paper - about 50/60 years old that has lost so much sensitivity that this print took 14 minutes under lightbulbs. I took the photo last May on world pinhole day, bleached it yesterday and spent ages in the darkroom this afternoon. fun though
I love this. Amazing process, stunning final image.
