Had a walk around Speke Hall Estate this afternoon. The house wasn't open to visitors today so it was quiet, there were just a few estate workers tidying the garden.
I walked along the woodland trail and was amazed to read that the ancient wood is the oldest part of the estate, dating back to 1086.
The house dates from Tudor times, unsurprisingly it's not straight, so I've had difficulty telling whether the horizontal line is right or not!
The date setting on my camera is wrong today, it doesn't seem to know it's a leap year.
Fabulous building, I love the architecture. The Tudors may not have been too good at getting their building straight, but they get full marks for appearance.
