I went to the 'old' airport in Liverpool to capture the moon and venus this afternoon. I'd seen this yesterday on our way home but couldn't stop for a photo so was glad we had clear skies again today.
Fortunately the new airport is not too far away so it wasn't long before a plane passed by. My settings couldn't deal with the low light, the night sky and a moving plane so the plane is definitely moving!
I meant to comment on this when I first saw it Christine, but lack of free time stopped me. Lovely shot of the old airport control tower.
Did you know that the old flight control room, the green bit, can be rented as the penthouse suite ? However there is a problem, you are not allowed to open the doors and go out on to the balcony and enjoy the views and fresh air. Because of Elf and Safety rules the railings around the balcony are too low, however because the building is listed, they are not allowed to put up new ones or add bits to the old original railings.
