Beautiful day in the Lake District for a hill walk, we thought this would be a good one as it's surrounded by some of the high peaks and the views are wonderful on a clear day.
The walk is so easy to follow, the wall is your guide all the way to the end, then it's just uphill to the cairn at the top for the panoramic views.
The village where we started from was so busy we had difficulty finding a place to park but as you can see there weren't many up here. Shame for them but not for us as we pretty much had the place to ourselves.
The building of the wall must have been quite a job, it goes for miles all the way along this ridge. There's a quarry nearby on the other side of the hill so the stone didn't have to be carried too far up!
It was so nice to read all your lovely comments on yesterday's shot, thank you for putting it on PP and TP!
It is always nice to get away from the crowds. It amazes me how so many people huddle together on our popular beaches, but the beach closest to where I live is almost empty because we live outside the tourist area. We are keeping our beach a secret, so don't tell anyone.
