Wild times

When I'm on my permitted daily exercise with the dog, I often think about the places I'd like to go when the lockdown is relaxed and we're allowed to venture further afield.

There are a lot more people out and about this week so I had to make a few detours today to avoid the crowds. Ended up in a lovely wild area of the park, well away from the crowds where it almost felt like I could be wandering down a country lane...

“I’m dreaming of freedom to walk in the wilderness...” lovely and dreamlike. I’m so blessed to have a 4 1/2 mile hike in the woods out my backdoor

Was this gorgeous photo taken with a Lensbaby Velvet? There are so many layers of beauty here that it feels three dimensional.

@jyokota Hi Junko, thanks for asking, I used my 85mm lens at f2.5 and blended 2 images together to give it a bit more blur.

@inthecloud5 did you blend a background image with the flowers so all the white flowers are one image?
April 27th, 2020
@jyokota I had 2 images of the flowers that were almost identical, so placed the second one so it wasn't quite lined up and blended it for a blurred look. Then masked the white flowers at the front. I think I put a soft colour layer on as well, it just blends everything together to finish it off.

@inthecloud5 -- ah, quite a complex process, I see. Well the effect is beautiful. I'm thinking of using my Velvet lens to see if I can get the effect in one shot. (says the person who doesn't know how to use PS)

@jyokota it sounds complex but after I'd tried it a few times I realised it's basically just copy and paste! I look forward to seeing your results with the velvet lens :)

@inthecloud5 -- I've already decided on a Pandemic Project: I have to move my old Aperture catalogs (seven years worth) into Lightroom before it becomes impossible. and then if there's still time and we are still isolating, I will think about acquiring some new skills like this one!
