Four years ago, we moved from a suburban neighborhood to a rural one. That first summer was magical as I watched my kids discover the wonders of our backyard. There were frog hunts by morning and coyote chatter by night. Among their great discoveries was this little creature (salamander) who they found living in one of our basement window wells. He turned out to be the most treasured find as he has lived there now for four years and comes out each summer to say hello and to show us how much he's grown. I know we named him in the past but no one could remember exactly what it was. A couple of them recalled it being "Sally" but Diego and I thought he deserved a much more proper name. And so it shall be that will be forever known as Hagrid Salazar Potter.
