My daughter asked me to get the little skin that attaches the inside of her top lip to her gums pierced. She had a strong argument and reasoning behind her want. I listened patiently to it all before telling her, "That is the stupidest damn thing I ever heard." I told her that, had she come to me and asked to get something like a tiny little stud in her nose, I would have been more apt to say yes but, to the little skin that attached her lip to her face? No.

A few nights later she called and said, "Remember when you said I could get my nose pierced?"

I said, "....That's not quite the way the conversation went but, yes. Why?"

"Well, can I?"

Personally, I had no problem with it but I knew I had to ask the co-parent involved. He anguished about it for a few seconds before throwing his hands up and saying, "Oh, I don't care!"

I like it. :)
As you know, as a parent you have to pick your battles! I like it, too! She's a very pretty girl. I'm with you (on the inside of her lips)...I would have been screaming "No", too.

@boysami @convie - Thank you. :) I was informed that it was called a smiley while I was asking about it as I got my tattoo. She still insists she is getting one when she turns 18. :-/
