I have started a yearly tradition of The Christmas Store for my kids. Throughout the year (or in a mad rush right before) I buy enough gifts for each one of my kids to give each one of their siblings. Sooo...90 ish gifts, give or give a few if I decided to do one from their dad and I, too. I spend one day decorating my bedroom with all of our old Christmas decorations. I set of one section of our room for each child's "department", complete with a homemade sign, compliments of the youngers, where I will set 9 items that their siblings can chose from to "buy" for them. They coose numbers to morning of The Christmas Store and, one by one, browse through the store and shop for their siblings. I then sit and either chat with them or help them wrap their gifts. When they are done, they get a candy cane, I get a hug, and the next shopper is sent in. It is an all day process but one I have grown to cherish. This is one angle of my bedroom/The Christmas Shop which was open this year on December 22nd.
Such a wonderful tradition and a great way of spending a bit of 1:1 time with each of your children
