Another corn picture... not one I enjoyed taking. You can see the mud and debris in the background. And this corn should not be half deep in a lake. I saw entire fields wiped out where, once the water started to recede, the corn had stood there was gone... just a random stalk that managed to hang on here and there. Knowing that these fields were people's livelihoods and that losing them, in many instances, goes hand in hand with losing their homes... the awe is still there but the heartache supersedes it, tenfold.
