Year 4 Day 16

We saw this juvenile bald eagle sitting alone on the ice. He was beyond huge. He looked like a baby before he started to fly. His wing span and size convinced me he was some sort of mutant raptor that would explain all of the unreported missing cows. But, I asked a friend who has much bird knowledge and she assured me it was a young bald eagle. I googled it (because I do that a lot) and, from the looks of it, this guy is maybe 3-4 years old. Who knew?? Anyhow, we were super impressed with ourselves for having spotted him. And SOOOO lucky. :)

***Not a great picture but view large for a better look at a baby bald eagle. Because he's awesome!
Wow... great shot! I love his feather colours!

What a great find and capture! There's something sweet about him even though I know he's a predator.
