We recently spotted this male Downy Woodpecker, obviously, waiting to be launched forward at warp speed from the sling shot where he was perched. ;)

Beautiful bird and lovely detail. We have a couple of woodpeckers visit our garden (a green and a spotted I think) but they are so shy they always seem to hear me coming!
