Year 5 Month 2 Day 3

The Northern Flicker that has befriended me is full of so much personality. I call her "her" but I'm still having a hard time deciding if she's a "she". I see the faintest of mustaches that the males have. But theirs are supposed to be very bright. Oh well, the way I figure, "s/he" covers it all.

We have a male that has been visiting us lately and his mustache is very prominent so I'd say it is a safe bet it is a she. They are fascinating to watch, aren't they. Lovely shot.
