That was then. This is now

The house on the left is a typical Irish bungalow ,they replaced the old thatch cottage so beloved of tourists. They sprang up in the late 60's and 70's. On the right is Tyrone House which I have posted before but from a different point of view. Built in the late 1700's it was home to the St George Family who were feared landlords. Their house out lived them...
Love the landscape story and composistion

Beautiful landscape! I prefer the way the thatched cottage looks, but of course I don't have to pay for the upkeep. :)

perfect narrative for this... i love how the home of the feared landlords evokes that persona.

Great juxtaposition of ancient and modern. Now, why would they both be on the left?? :))

Nice contrast between the old and new, and love those clouds. Great sweeping landscape, but it looks like it could be a bit cold out there in the winter, not much shelter.

That St. George family home sure doesn't show much character ~ looks more like a prison than a home! Sure is pretty countryside ~ and some blue sky peaking out, too :)
