Blue Church

Ireland has a lot of these old churches roofless , open to the stars. I like this one with it's beautiful alter windows intact..
I like this John... but tell me - why so many ruined churches in Ireland?

I love ruins like this, the history and imagining how they might have been.

Beautifully captured to convey the one-time grandeur.

So skilled were the people that built these now derelict buildings, I wonder what they would say to see them in such a condition. Now they provide a great subject for us photographers to preserve. Good shot.

@vignouse Religious persecution , and Famine, Richard would have accounted for the abandonment of a lot of churches. These buildings were usually rural monastic sites ....Thanks as always for your comments they are much appriacted
