As tomorrow is the 4th of July,Independence Day when Americans celebrates the founding of their nation. I thought I would post this picture.Every year thousands come to Ireland in search of ancestors who left poverty and starvation, to make a better life for themselves in the USA. This is often what they find, of the celebrated ancestral home. The place from where they came, The place where it all began..Home..Happy Independence Day to you all..Try on black if you can...
My husband's patriarchy hails from Ireland ~ long ago. I think he has some ancestry info from someone in his family ~ I'll have to look when we get home. Nice idea for a photo ~ interesting window panes ~ wonder how many have looked through those in the past ~ clearly nobody lives there now (at least I hope not!) ;)
What an immensely thought provoking photo and caption! You are the rare individual in another country who might speculate on the behind-scenes history on such an anniversary! Nicely done!
the image brings back another memory for me
