Interesting shot. Is there any relation between the people on the top half of the photos and the people on the bottom?

Well, you've certainly got me pondering. I'm guessing, from the tramlines, that it's Dublin, and from the derelict houses, that it's somewhere between Abbey Street and Heuston station. And that the posters are to do with the 1916 Rising anniversary.

@cheekylulu Yes the ones on the bottom are modern day ancestors of the people above, who died during the Easter rising in 1916.
@laroque You are eagle eyed, this is beside Collins Barracks right across the river from St James's gate ( Guinness) where the 1916 commemoration exhibition is on. It is really worth a visit, I'm not sure how you view the 1916 rising, but the displays are careful not to take sides..

Interesting to read what this shot is about, what a wonderful historical piece of public art, and the human interaction with it makes it even more interesting. You have some great street shots, would you consider tagging something for street-18!

@jack4john No particular view on the Rising, history is what it is. But the presentation of history interests me, and I think that has changed for the better. I went to a marvelous exhibition at Collins Barracks about 5 years ago where they exhibited the names of all Irish people who had died violently on pone day in 1916, including on both sides of the Rising, on the Western Front, in torpedoed merchant ships and in Zeppelin raids on London. If that spirit has continued then I'm sure some of those photos will be of policemen or British Army soldiers.

@laroque there is to be a wall similar to Arlington where the names of all (both sides) who died in 1916 will be listed. Relations between Ireland and England are the best they have ever been, the Queens visit was long over due and I like many others found a new respect for her. Only on the sporting field I say, hope you are enjoying a Easter egg or two, Slainte Tim..
