Quietly Rusting by jack4john

Quietly Rusting

A bridge on what was the Galway to Clifden train line, which closed in 1935. It had opened to much fanfare in 1895. This bridge is in a place called Ballynahinch, which should you ever find yourself there is well worth exploring ...as always thanks for stopping by...
Like a Constable painting - very beautiful!

Beautiful processing as always. Even the bridge displays its Autumn colours.

Such a wonderful fall shot. The tones all complement each other so very well. Fav.

Happily the bridge melds nicely with its surroundings... I hope that the track-bed has been turned into a footpath and/or cycleway?

It;s the composition I like, with the river winding away into the distance, seen through the gap under the bridge.

Wonderful shot. The bridge could certainly now be seen as a relic of history.

I went to school in Lisburn and had pals who were fromage surrounding catchment, including Ballynahinch. Still in touch with 3 of them, now respectively in Manchester, Cork and Dublin. Thanks for the memory.
