Galway's Eyre Square used to be a lovely place a green oasis where people sat about on summers days. The the city fathers decided it needs a makeover, lets spend a lot of money, take away the things people like and leave the fountain no body likes , and on which we never turn on the water because kids only mess about in it. They spent millions on hard landscaping that only the skateboarders like . The building on the far left is Richardson's Bar where I was a barman in my youth and from where I would go and sit on the green in the early 1980's . Now I would have to dodge the skateboarding youth to go sit on the concrete steps. Progress , I think not.
I agree with you, but then I'm a country bumpkin' and do not like concrete to fall on.
