@jamibann My ancestors, William Smith and his wife Isabella Middleton, were married in Aboyne and he was a carter at Chapel Lane. Isabella's mother was a Forbes. So exciting to see photos from that area!
@genealogygenie Interesting Kim. My husband's family wear the Forbes tartan as they were the standard bearers (banner man) for the Forbes clan back in the day. We drive through Aboyne all the time as it's en route to Aberdeen for us. Passed through today in fact! Small world. :-)
