Sundance Cinema, Houston by jamibann

Sundance Cinema, Houston

Still on my b&w series of saying farewell to Houston. This is the cinema we go to ... a lot! The Sundance. It is wonderful. Small cinema rooms, comfortable seats that you can pre-book, and you can even bring a glass of wine and a slice of pizza in to the film with you! My kind of place. That, and we get free viewings from time to time with our loyalty card. Going to try and fit in one more film there before we leave!
Great looking place. cOOL POV!

Boy, the perks of living in Houston, TX! I don't believe there's a midwest cinema that's even thought of those patron privileges. lol You're gonna miss this place.

The angle here is tremendous. I'm just starting to learn some wide-angle techniques, and this shot really inspires me!

Nice angle and lines, nice capture

@lyndemc Indeed! These cinemas are the baby of Robert Redford, and I believe there are only 5 in the US. We are lucky to have one of them here!

@wordsmith Thanks Teresa. I love my wide angle (10-22) especially for architectural shots. You can get some wonderful distorted shots with it too.

I love the concept that this theatre makes available!! It sounds fabulous!
I've been so out of the loop in my correspondence here, I've missed a beat...are you leaving Houston as in "moving" or "traveling"?
August 7th, 2014
@Weezilou Thanks for all you recent lovely comments Louise. Yes, we're leaving Houston, next Friday to be precise! We are a bit sad as we'd wanted to stay, but are heading for Paris though, so it could be worse! ;-) Next stop Phoenix though to say hello to our daughter who has just arrived there for a year ... and just one of the reasons we wanted to stay in the US a bit longer ... Anyway, Paris it shall be from the 23rd of this month. Thanks for asking! :-)

@jamibann It sounds as though life has a lot of new surprises in store for you! A shame to have to leave your daughter as she's just arriving, but you can well imagine how many people would pine to move to Paris! Safe Travels!
