Long-tailed tits by jamibann

Long-tailed tits

These wee guys don't come around too often, so I was delighted when two of them came to feed.

Awww! They do look like just wee birds. So tiny and delicate... and such long tails!

What a cool site to be able to watch for birds. I just saw a "10 most important" list for photographers and one of the items was to put up a bird feeder!

@taffy Yes, I have several little feeders on my cherry tree and wisteria bush. All are very bare at the moment, so I see the birds coming in and can hide and take snaps of them - not so easy in summer when the leaves are on the trees though. I get hours of entertainment from sitting there, zoom lens at the ready, sad person that I am! ;-)

Love tits but they never stay still long enough to get a shot!! Lovely dof and lighting

Nice capture!

Nice capture. I've had a mockingbird come here and it's run off all the birds that had been stopping at my feeders.

They are so funny, they arrive in mass then disappear. They don't stay still for very long either so you did really well to get such a great shot

By the way the collective noun for long tailed tits is a volery apparently!

@lucypics that's interesting! I had no idea.

So nice to see them sharing- when we have anything at our suet feeder, if one is eating he/she won't let anyone else join even with plenty of space for two. Your long tailed tits are quite pretty.

A pair of well captured tits. It must be fun watching them when they come to the feeder they are so cute and pretty...I guess I have to break down and buy a feeder maybe then I'll get to see some different birds...... : )

Super capture of these sweet little birds. They really do flit about very quickly so you did really well to get such a great shot of them.
