Blackbird by jamibann

Blackbird

A very common garden bird, but a handsome fella nonetheless.
great detail, reminds me of American Robin.

@nanalisarocks They'll be a very similar type of bird Lisa, both ground feeders and similar sizes. The female of this species is brown.

The eye-lined eyes and beak remind me of the Mynah bird but the body shape, well now that Lisa's mentioned it, it does look very much like our American robins. Interesting that the females are brown. Handsome bird. He looks happy in that green grass. I saw a robin here in IL over the weekend. Shocking as it's still bitter cold. I've no idea how that bird will survive until it warms up and worms reappear.

@lyndemc Yes, I guess our birds are pretty lucky. No snow here yet this year, just an occasional bit of ground frost!

Fabulous capture

Though "common" might mean they're ordinarily plentiful, there's a beauty in this lovely bird! Like Denise, they bring my favorite Mynah birds to mind! We're headed to Hawaii at the end of the week, and would be thrilled to get a good photo of one of those while there!

You've captured such detail in his feathers :)

Your detail on the feathers makes him quite pretty - we so often dismiss blackbirds without really looking at them.

Very handsome indeed, and not less so for being one of many.
