It was such a beautiful day again yesterday. A friend and I went cycling out to Versailles Castle. Everyone was enjoying the Spring sunshine, walking and cycling through the grounds, lying around on the grass, and boating in the canals. The Grand Canal is the biggest body of water in the grounds of the Chateau de Versailles. It takes the form on a cross and was built by Le Notre between 1667 and 1679. During the revolution it was filled in and used for growing wheat. Louis 18th re-established it is as a canal.
"...a friend and I went cycling out to Versailles Castle..." What a dream state that would be for me! I'm so pleased for you that you're drinking in all the living you can while there! The photo is lovely..nice bands of subject matter crossing the image as you peddle on by!
I like how Louise @Weezilou described it... "nice bands of subject matter crossing the image..." The layers of grass, water, trees and sky are lovely, even in B&W. The boaters add pleasing focal points. I also like Louise's comment about your drinking in life's pleasures. I'm thankful you share them here with us.
Thanks so much for that enthusiastic comment shared on my rust and hyacinth pic. That one made me smile. But I bet your photo of the same flower wasn't boring at all. No way.
@Weezilou It's always funny to think of some folks getting up as others are going to bed. Similarly, as we enjoy Spring weather others are dealing with the onset of winter. It's a wonderful world.
