Fried Green Tomatoes?

As we are absent from our house in Scotland for so much of the year, we allow a lovely man from the village to use our greenhouse. Hugh really is a star. He is 88 years old and comes over twice a day to look after his flowers and vegetables, and keeps an eye on our house at the same time. The tomatoes are looking particularly good at the moment, but unfortunately we will be gone before they are ready. We've had a couple of cucumber and lettuce from him though!

Well it may have to be green tomato chutney this year as they will never ripen unless the sun comes out! Mind you green tomato chutney tastes very good!

These are beauties! Hugh obviously has a green thumb and whatever magic touch is needed to make plants produce edible things.
