The Champs Elysées as you've never seen it before! by jamibann

The Champs Elysées as you've never seen it before!

Empty. Almost. As part of European Mobility Week, the Mayor of Paris banned cars from the centre of the city from 11 am today. Buses, trains, metro, trams and taxis were still allowed to operate. Hubby and I thought it the perfect opportunity to get on our bikes and cycle the 45 km into Paris and go for a whirl around the infamous roundabout at the Arc de Triomphe. Great fun! Hubby obligingly took this photo.
Love it. I'm a cyclist so think this is really great.

A very cool shot! I did cycle there, but there was far more traffic that day!!!

@lynne5477 @leananiemand Thanks ladies - yes it was brilliant to cycle all through Paris with very little traffic to bother us. Beautiful sunny day for it too.

What a great idea. Must be quite pleasant to cycle there when there is precious little traffic.

WOW!!! Never ever have seen it this empty. It's a great shot of you in such an iconic spot. Very cool! Even when they've closed Lake Shore Drive in Chicago for the Bike the Drive event, you'd still have hundreds of bikes in the photo.

You must have had a great time. Love the shadows in this, and the way you are framed by the Arc.

Yes, this is a most unusual view. I can see the pavers! Usually they're covered over in cars. Excellent that the two of you took advantage of the open road for a ride.
