Half The Sky by jamibann

Half The Sky

I'm currently volunteering for an organisation called 'Room to Read' which some of you may have heard of. They raise funds, all over the world, to help educate children in poor countries. It's a fantastic organisation and if you're interested, check out www.roomtoread.org. Tomorrow, as a fund raising event, we are showing the video 'Half The Sky' (a documentary about the education of girls) at a library in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. I was asked to document the event in photos. I went down yesterday to take some shots of the display of RtR books, and I'll be back tonight for the film showing. This is a poster, placed on a window - I liked the way I could see the kids playing in the courtyard below, behind the poster.

Wonderful work. Education is taken for granted by so many but needed by many more.

You have a great eye and great thoughtfulness, Issi, to see and capture this juxtaposition. You are certainly volunteering for an excellent cause.
