The Church at Auvers by jamibann

The Church at Auvers

We went to Auvers sur Oise for our monthly 'ramble' yesterday. It was a lovely discovery for me as it is 'Van Gogh' country. This is the 'Church at Auvers' which he painted in June 1890. The original painting hangs in the Musée d'Orsay. I may now need to make a trip there to see it again.
Great shot of this charming church

I love Van Gogh...he's my most favorite artist. You should read his letters to Theo if you haven't already. Gives a wonderful insight to the man/artist that he was.

Sounds like a great day you had. What a beautiful church and neat that Van Gogh painted it. I think your iPhone version is a great imitation of it!

@woodlandsphotog Thanks Richard. I had a bit of fun with the app - it's amazing what technology can do. I can't help but wonder what Vincent would think of it all though!
