Last night, I had a meeting in Paris and as I was walking back up the Champs Elysées to catch the train home, my eye was drawn to the French flag fluttering delicately under the Arc de Triomphe. You can see La Défense business district through the Arc. It was a beautiful evening and the sun was just setting, giving a lovely pink glow to the sky.
This is so exotic sounding to me, and looking. To think you were heading home and passed the Arc...wow! Lovely image of day to day life in front of an iconic site.
Catching that flag blowing there at that time of day was terrific - and the people crossing just like every other time not thinking about the impact that sight makes on others.
Beautiful capture. Love Paris. The arc de triomphe is such a special place for me. It was the last place I saw a Parisian friend before his unexpected death in his early forties. When we said goodbye that day, we vowed to meet again very soon.
