This statue of Henri IV sits at the Pont Neuf in Paris. He was a popular king in France and was known as Good King Henry, but also as 'Le Vert Galant' because of his numerous mistresses. It tickled my sense of humour to see his statue with this backdrop, which is the temporary covering over the scaffolding of the old Samaritaine building, currently being renovated.
Ha! Great juxtaposition Issa, what an eye you have. Made me smile - one so pompous and self-important, the other so fatuous and superficial. Fav, for the thoughtfulness of it.
