Oh, we are in such a busy phase at the moment ... and so I'm just catching up on the last 4 days ... which were in Scotland. I made a quick trip over to check up on our house extension and see how my dad is doing. The work at the house is going very slowly ... way behind schedule, but dad is doing very well.
I went for a walk with my sister-in-law when I was there and we passed by this magnificent eagle, made by one of the village residents, Michel. Michel and Magali are a French couple, from Brittany, who have retired to the tiny village of Braemar in Scotland. They are quite obsessed with the Jacobites and are both extremely talented individuals. Michel is a joiner to trade, but is a very talented silversmith and metal worker and does some beautiful stone carvings. Magali is a photographer and dressmaker. They both regularly take to the hills dressed as Jacobites! They're very well known in the village! This eagle is Michel's handiwork, and takes a place of pride in the front garden of his highland home, which, of course, is a traditional cottage, loving restored by himself and his wife.
