Out walking in the area around the Buttes de Chaumont yesterday and spotted these shoes hanging out. Intriguing!

Where I come from a pair of shoes hanging over a power line like this means there's a drug house nearby...maybe this is a complete apartment block...

I have seen a very similar installation in Habana, Cuba and I was told it is a sign that drugs are sold there

You would imagine the police would be aware of its meaning then too, thus negating it? Fascinating sight!
