Pause for Thought

This was taken at the junction of Rues Alibert and Bichat. It was at this spot that 13 young people were randomly shot on 13th November 2015. People sitting eating in restaurants. People just living life. I was glad to see that a granite plaque has been placed on the wall to commemorate the loss. I liked the idea that this cat and the ghostly stag are watching over them. May they rest in peace - along with the 117 others killed in Paris that night.
Great image and what a tragedy ...

It was a very tragic time and hopefully Paris will not need any additional memorial plaques in the future.

Did you put in the cat/stag or is that on the doorway? Either way, it's wonderful.

Wonderful photo. The drag caught my attention immediately. He seemed out of place. Such a tragic event. There are definitely too many of these events in the world. It's nice they have a memorial.

@francoise The photo is exactly what I saw - an old door with faded layers of street art. I just cropped it a little and converted it black and white. :-)

I wondered if it was something you had created but I see it is this way. A lovely yet sad reminder of that night. We had just been in Paris those few days and were travelling back on the train when we heard the news. fav

Such a moving essay, especially with the violence this past week in Florida. And it's a beautiful composition. B&W is perfect.
