The Stravinsky Fountain

There are 16 sculptures in this water basin near the Pompidou Centre. The black mechanical pieces are by Jean Tinguely and the colour pieces are by Niki de Saint Phalle. A very Parisian combination of the ancient and the modern, with the church of St. Merri in the background.

I immediately recognized the work by Niki de Saint Phalle! My daughter took me to an exhibit of her work in a botanical garden in Chicago and I was enchanted by it! So lovely to see you (and so many!) enjoying this wonderful day in Paris!
