Absolutely NOT the best of shots, but a story image using a quick i-phone shot as I left the room. For those of you who met my Donald Duck teaset last month ... I have to share with you that I decided to put it up for auction, rather than have it sit in my garage. The sale was today, and it was actually very exciting. Only two people were bidding for it - one on the phone, the other in the room.
I am very grateful to my friend Lynne who wanted to go to the sale room with me and see it being sold. I'm glad we went - it was a really interesting experience, although I did feel a little sad as I saw the auctioneer's hammer come down and Donald and friends transfer to 'the man in the striped shirt'!, for £220! A very interesting morning!
Well done Issi :) And a good price, which i thought it would be quite a good collectable! You should have told the man it's hsitory - he might have been interested!!!
Great photo and story....and great result. You have your photos for the memory book!
If you're near the Ballater Highland Games today look out for us. David and family very keen to go and wear kilts. 😁
@sarah19 Oh, I wish I'd known you were there as we were too! It was a beautiful day! You'll see a couple of my posts shortly - although I didn't take many photos. I find that when I'm out and about with friends I can't concentrate on the photography side of things! I got a few decent shots though. I hope you had a lovely day out.
@jamibann it was still a 'Will we/won't we?' situation until the evening before but we did enjoy the day. What a huge crowd. We needed our jackets when we arrived but the sun was lovely later. Perhaps on a quieter day we can arrange a get together!😊

Better that someone else makes use of it!
